United supports waste-to-energy programs that convert our recovered packaging materials into ReFuel™ a biogenic rich alternative fuel that replaces fossil fuels while powering industrial boilers. Through partnerships with appropriate processing facilities, materials that may otherwise be discarded can be used in anaerobic digestion and other energy-recovery processes.

Food and beverage residuals, high-strength organic waste, grease, and other approved materials may provide valuable energy potential. United coordinates collection and transportation while helping customers identify responsible destinations for their recyclable waste streams.
